"Appreciation can make a day, even change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary." - Margaret Cousins

Playoff moments part 7: Gratitude

When we are happy, we perform well, enjoy what we are doing, and have the desire to keep doing it.

Gratitude is an important ingredient for happiness, wellbeing, and mood. It reminds us to appreciate the journey/process, especially when we experience setbacks and challenges.

Two ways to make gratitude part of your daily habit:

1. Just say it. Let someone know that you are thankful for what they do. Be specific about what you are thankful for, the effort they put in, and how they helped you.

2. Write it down. End or start the day acknowledging something you are thankful for, be it a person that helped you, something good that happened to you, or something you accomplished. It can be big or small, like accomplishing a goal as a team or taking pride in something you did well at practice.

When we show gratitude, we are expressing love and passion for moments and interactions we experience., the opportunities we have, and the successes and challenges that have gotten us to the present moment.

Remember to practice gratitude for self and for others!
