For the beginner, this book serves as a training guide to help you succeed as a new runner. For the seasoned runner that may be feeling a little burnt out from running, this book can help you to rekindle your passion and joy for running.
This book reminds me of that age-old tale of the Little Engine that Could. Lynch and Scott discuss the importance of understanding and discovering ways to break through self-imposed limits. Rather than give up because you think it is unrealistic to run a mile or to run a marathon, Scott and Lynch provide thoughtful insights to help you believe in the “I think I can, I think I can” mindset.
While this book is geared toward runners, I have found myself applying the principles and techniques from this book to swimming, competing in a masters level lacrosse league, and to just motivating myself to go the gym and workout.
